Get – Set – Bolt

#BoltDrives Our team was Bolt Revotron Team 2

Summers started a bit early this year and the coolers and air conditioners came into action much earlier than previous years. Sundays in summers are usually spent without any activity as the hot weather just exhausts me and I have no energy left to do anything beyond the essential routine at home.

But the #BoltDrives activity to drive a #TataBolt to #NeemranaFort by #Blogadda seemed pretty cool and held a promise to bring me into action and I could not help but register for the activity when Arvind told me about this. Driving the newly launched Tata Bolt to one of the most sought after weekend holiday destinations near Delhi was rather exciting. That too, with a group of other enthusiastic bloggers.

On the designated Sunday we reached Galaxy Hotel, the starting venue. Bright, shiny, and sporty red Tata Bolts were almost ready to give a driving thrill to the bloggers. The preparations at the venue gave us the feel as if we are going to be a part of something as mighty as some great Himalayan Rally. There were two more members in our team – Arvind and Aantrik. Our team was Team2 Revotron. It meant that our team is going to drive TataBolt Revotron for Phase I and TataBolt Quadrajet for phase II. Revotron is the petrol version of Bolt and the diesel version is called Quadrajet.

An interesting and informative presentation about the #TataBolt and its features was given to the blogger drivers. Having being graduated from driving my Wagon R Lxi for the last many years to my Swift Dzire Zxi for the last couple of months, I could not resist comparing the features of #TataBolt with these two in my mind during the presentation and later during the driving experience. Tata Bolt is a hatch back like my old car and is being a competitor of the contemporary Maruti Swift.

Its high end variant has Bluetooth enabled steering controls that I find pretty impressive and useful to attend calls without having to lift my hands from the steering wheel. Smartphone enabled navigation with MapMyIndia maps, voice command recognition to make calls, change tracks, and control AC were some of the brilliant features that were tried during the drive to Neemrana. In-built navigation screen is quite useful for anyone to navigate in a new location. One can also command to read out the incoming SMSs and notifications and thus the driver can listen to the messages rather than stopping the car to read the message on the phone. Our team mentor had been guiding us to try its different features. The rally was continually being filmed by the crew who was in one of the cars that filmed me too while driving, making me feel as if I am an expert rally driver. A lovely bright red cap made me look like one too!

After a comfortable drive during the first phase with an effective AC, we had a short break for switching to Tatabolt Quadrajet and cover the remaining distance by driving it. Our youngest team member Aantrik drove it and even managed to climb the steep incline to Neemrana fort without much difficulty where we were given a warm welcome by the hotel staff and TataBolt and Blogadda teams.  A short tour around the fort that culminated with a high tea served at one of the restaurant at fort. By this time the sun had set and the fort lights were illuminated. The fort looked exquisite and spectacular and none of the bloggers missed the opportunity to capture its beauty in his camera as they had done for their #TataBolt. Our new found fascination #TataBolt was ready to take us for our return #BoltDrives!
